After an easy 4-1 win over Cabo Verde on Saturday, Cameroon failed to repeat the feat against Angola on Tuesday as part of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers (1-1). Mired in a deep crisis between the Ministry and the Federation, the Indomitable Lions were unable to reassure themselves on the pitch.

But the Indomitable Lions, backed by a long culture of refusing defeat, are not the type to collapse. They could even have returned from Luanda with a win, validating the successful debut of controversial new coach Marc Brys, who got off to a convincing 4-1 win over Cabo Verde last Saturday.

The Belgian coach, who has not had enough time to work, admits there is a lot of talent in the team. “There’s enough talent in this core. Can we still improve? Of course we can! We’ve only had five or six training sessions and we’ve played two games: 4/6. We’ve proved ourselves. Let us work! Give us a bit of time,” the 62-year-old told a press conference.
