On Matchday 4 of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, Cameroon drew with Angola after a convincing win over Cabo Verde. The Lions could even have come back from Luanda with a win, which would have validated the successful debut of Marc Brys, the controversial new coach, with a 4-1 win over Cape Verde earlier.

Marc Brys has a record of 1 win and 1 draw from two matches. Thanks to these results, the Indomitable Lions are now top of Group D of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, having dominated the group on goal difference before the arrival of the Belgian coach.

Marc Brys’ assessment after the matches against Cape Verde and Angola can be summed up as follows:

– 2 matches

– 4 points out of 6

– 1 win

– 1 draw

– 5 goals scored

– 2 goals conceded

– Leadership of group D of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers

Opinions among Indomitable Lions fans are divided, but many believe that Marc Brys has already surpassed his predecessor, Rigobert Song. Given enough time, the Indomitable Lions could be well on the way to a renaissance. Only time will tell.
