Indomitable Lions: have the players turned their backs on Samuel Eto’o?

Before and after his election as president of Fecafoot, Samuel Eto’o always claimed to be on the side of the players, a patriotic stance echoed by his communicators in various media. However, the Indomitable Lions players have recently questioned this stance, realising that actions are worth more than words.

After a victory over Cabo Verde, the players were surprised by a threatening letter from the president of Fecafoot, which reinforced their disillusionment with Samuel Eto’o. Despite this, several clubs contacted the editorial team to find out more about the Indomitable Lions’ situation. In the face of this tension, the players expressed their support for the government-appointed directors, even refusing to attend a cocktail party organised in their honour by the President of Fecafoot.

At the airport, they also refused to board the chartered plane in the absence of the coaches appointed by the Minister. When they arrived at the hotel in Luanda, confusion persisted over room reservations for the staff appointed by the Minister. The players, tired of the tensions with Samuel Eto’o, agreed to share rooms to ease the situation. This experience prompted the Indomitable Lions to demand tranquillity and concentrate solely on representing Cameroon, without ambiguity.
