After the match, Nouhou Tolo, scorer of his first international goal, shared his thoughts on the victory and the recent difficulties that motivated the team to win.

“We’ve shown that extra sport activities doesn’t concern us,” he told the national broadcaster.

Interviewed by the media, former Indomitable Lions glories such as Roger Milla also expressed their feelings, touching on topical issues.

“Congratulations to the Lions (…) but people must stop doing anything (…) We must not go to the federation to do anything, to come and disturb the federation”. Just enough to spark a new controversy.

Stéphane Mbia, another of the team’s legends, also expressed his delight at the new-found cohesion of the Indomitable Lions: “What we need to remember is the new-found cohesion of the Indomitable Lions.

Joseph-Antoine Bell, head of the ONIES, also shared his impressions of the match, focusing instead on the pre-meeting atmosphere in the dressing room.

On his part, Marc Brys, coach of the Indomitable Lions, commented on the match and his tactical choices, in particular his selection of Carlos Baleba, considered by many to be the man of the match.

Despite recent criticism, the 62-year-old Belgian technician left a good impression, particularly in preparing the team for their next match against Angola.

“What do I have to say? I understand your question because Angola had an extra day off, they’re playing at home. It’s going to be a completely different match. I’ve seen a lot of pictures. They have a very good striker who scores easily. There’s a lot of speed in this team, there’s not too much movement, but it’s quick in depth. Now we have to adapt to this team. Above all, they’re a team that controls the midfield, with a lot of movement in the middle of the pitch. We’re going to block that, and see how we can go about winning this match,” he said, remaining focused on the next game.
