The crisis resolution meeting chaired by the President of the Littoral Regional Football League, Louis Robert Mbekeck, failed to reach a solution.
“The Ligue Régionale de Football du Littoral informs the region’s sporting public and all parties involved in the league matches for the 2023/2024 sports season that all these matches have been postponed to a later date. This decision was taken following the referees’ categorical refusal to take part in the matches announced without having received their full unpaid fees, a position clearly expressed by the referees at the crisis resolution meeting
. Once again, the League is counting on the usual good understanding of all the clubs involved and sincerely apologises for the inconvenience caused by this decision”, read the press release announcing the decision.
This announcement highlights the financial difficulties encountered by referees in the region and the consequences for the running of the regional championship. The Regional Football League of the Littoral must now find a solution to these financial problems and allow referees to collect their outstanding fees in full in order to ensure the smooth running of the regional championship.
