- In Group A, Mohamed Salah’s Egypt lead the way with 10 points, ahead of Guinea-Bissau. The Pharaohs were beaten by their runners-up on the day, but are still 2 points clear of the Os Djurtus.
- In Group B, Sudan lead the way ahead of Sadio Mané’s Senegal. The Nile Crocodiles regained the lead after their derby victory over South Sudan. Senegal are in second place after beating Mauritania.
- In the other groups, the great nations of African football dominate.
