Selected by Marc Brys to take part in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, Jules Armand Kooh, the top scorer in the 2023-2024 MTN Elite One season, did not play against Cabo Verde or Angola.

In fact, he was not in the squad that travelled to Angola for Matchday 4 of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in Group D. The Belgian coach explained the reasons for Jules Armand Kooh’s absence.

“It’s our job to detect young players. We took two. Unfortunately Kooh has something to do with his date of birth. It’s not fair, we’ve lost this striker. We’ll continue to watch the games locally. I’m sure there’s a lot of talent out there. It’s up to us to start working. That’s also part of our job. There are a lot of good feelings when you give a youngster the chance to come to the national team and he succeeds,” said Marc Brys.

Pour approfondir :  Marc Brys: "Playing without Choupo Moting? It's simple, it's the coach's choice".

Jules Armand Kooh, who plays in the local league with Astres de Douala, has not had the opportunity to add his attacking touch in Marc Brys’ last two outings, but he will certainly have the chance to do so in the forthcoming fixtures.
