The training camp began on Monday 17 June under the guidance of head coach Alfred Aboya, who brought together the 26 players selected for the Olympic Qualification Tournament. The national team was also expecting the imminent arrival of Pascal Siakam, a key player, to boost their chances of success.
Unfortunately, however, Siakam will not be joining the squad for reasons mentioned earlier by Lattaquant.com. During the training camp, which runs until 30 June, the Indomitable Lions will play two friendly matches against Egypt on 24 June and Georgia on 26 June.
Based at the AC Hotel Marriott in Riga, the players will train at the Rimi Olympic Center and Arena Riga, first-class facilities. At the end of the training camp, the list of 12 players selected for the Olympic Qualification Tournament will be announced. The determination of the Cameroonians is clear: they are ready to do anything to secure their ticket to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
