Ivo Chi is the chairman of Smart Sports Agency and co-owner of Kufstein Fc in Austria. This player in the football management world had applied for the post of president of Fécafoot before deciding to drop out of the race when Samuel Eto’o, the current president of the Cameroon Football Association, made his candidacy official on Tuesday 21 September via his Facebook page.
“I can’t submit my candidacy after Samuel’s. It’s really impossible for me to do that. It’s really impossible for me to run against him because I think he’s the best choice Cameroon can have in the history of the Fécafoot presidency (…) I’m going to join him to help him be the best president he can be (…) I’m calling on everyone to give 100% to support him,” explained Ivo Chi, according to the Sport Vibes website.

Cameroon’s player placement showcase
In football, Cameroon has distinguished itself through some noteworthy initiatives. Working with its partner, Ivo Chi acquired Kufstein FC, a third-division club, in 2021. The club is also known for being the last where former Cameroon international Idrissou Mohammadou played before retiring. This acquisition marks the second time that a Cameroonian player has taken control of a European club, following the purchase of the club by Gilbert Kadji, founder of the Kadji Sports Academy, who had previously invested in FC Sion in Switzerland and FC Rouen in France. This trend of investment in European football by Cameroonians contrasts with the situation in Nigeria, where Aliko Dangote, the famous billionaire, aspired to buy Arsenal, one of the Premier League’s biggest clubs.
Ivo Chi is not only the agent of Indomitable Lions coach Marc Brys, he also has 12 players to his name, 04 of whom play in the top flight, with a market value of 1.9 million euros.
