The draw for the qualifiers for the Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025 (AFCON 2025) will take place on 4 July in Johannesburg. This information was released on Thursday by the Confederation of African Football. The draw will take place on the premises of SuperSport, scheduled for 14:30 local time, which corresponds to 13:30 in Morocco.
For the next AFCON 2025, a total of 48 teams, including preliminary round winners Chad, Eswatini, Liberia and South Sudan, will be divided into 12 groups for the knockout stages. These matches will begin in September 2024, and at the end of this competition, 23 teams will have the honor of qualifying to join Morocco, automatically qualified as the host country.
The choice of Morocco as host country for the 2025 African Cup of Nations was confirmed by the CAF Executive Committee at a meeting held in Cairo on 27 September 2023.
