Long courted by FECAFOOT to join the Indomitable Lions, Sacha Boey has always expressed his desire to represent Les Bleus de France.

In an interview with Téléfoot last February, the young right-back made no secret of his ambition to take part in Euro 2024 with the French national team. He said: “I hope to be there, playing for Les Bleus is my dream. Taking part in a competition with my country would be incredible. When you play for Bayern Munich, everyone’s watching you and it’s up to me to perform. I’m going to give it everything I’ve got.

However, the 24-year-old defender, who had been approached by FECAFOOT to represent Cameroon for several years, was ultimately not selected by Didier Deschamps for this summer’s Euros. His hopes of playing for France at international level appear to be dwindling, and it is looking increasingly likely that he will finally opt for Cameroon. According to our sources at Lattaquant.com, Sacha Boey is considering opening his doors to Cameroon in the coming weeks.

Despite his remarkable performances and impressive statistics at Bayern Munich, the Franco-Cameroonian has yet to get his chance in the French national team. In Didier Deschamps’ list of players eligible for selection as right-back, he is not even among the top three. Currently a substitute for Bayern Munich, the newcomer has yet to attract much interest in France.

In January 2024, Boey joined Bayern Munich for a record fee of €30 million. Although he is eligible to play for Cameroon, he has opted not to represent the national team, stating that he does not feel sufficiently attached to the country. His honours list includes a French Cup with Stade Rennais FC and two Turkish league titles with Galatasaray SK.

While we wait to see whether the Montreuil native, who turned down Rigobert Song’s invitation to play for France in 2023 when he was coach, will join the national team this time, Lattaquant.com brings you a video of his performances.
