Conflicts between the various players in Cameroonian Football continue unabated. The latest episode being the dismissal of the new Indomitable Lions coach Marc Brys.
Indeed, Samuel Eto’o has no intention of giving in to the tug-of-war with the Ministry of Sport that has been going on since April 2, 2024. FECAFOOT decided to suspend Marc Brys following the decision of the Cameroon National Olympic Committee’s Conciliation and Arbitration Board to suspend the national team’s technical staff appointed by Cameroon’s Football governing body.
A staff contested by the Ministry of Sports, which had already put its own in place. Following the decision of the conciliation board, Samuel Eto’o, who had in the meantime recognized Brys, decided to suspend him.
But according to the Belgian technician, the news is fake news. “Have I been sacked? This is false information!” reacted Brys in a statement relayed by a Lattaquant.com source. The latter claims that there is no question of a dismissal.
The first official match is scheduled for early June. With or without Brys…?
Following the Indomitable Lions’ failure to qualify for the last Africa Cup of Nations, the president of FECAFOOT decided to replace then coach Rigobert Song. However, the Ministry of Sport, headed by Narcisse Mouelle Kombi, took the initiative and appointed Belgian Marc Brys to head up the first team. At the same time, Eto’o appointed a staff made up of his own men, which his opponents took care to render obsolete.
As a reminder, following Brys’ appointment, Samuel Eto’o, the president of the federation, decided to take the matter to the conciliation and arbitration board of the Cameroon National Olympic and Sports Committee (CNOSC). It seems that he has been heard.
